Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Some people believe that television has destroyed communication among friends and family. I think this is an exaggeration. In my opinion, whether or not television hurts communication depends on what type of program is being viewed. More importantly, it depends on the type of viewer.
There are empty programs and educational programs. Empty programs do not challenge people. They have just enough storyline to keep them from switching channels. There are also passive and active viewers. A passive viewer will just watch television without thinking about what be or she seeing. The combination of an empty program and a passive viewer makes communication unlikely. Passive viewers just continue to watch, actually enjoying the fact that they don’t have to think. They won’t break away to talk about programming with friends and family. Even with better programming, passive viewers still won’t think or communicate much. The probably even prefer the empty program because the better programming is too much work.
On the other hand, active viewers watching educational programming always want to share what they see with friends and family. “Educational” doesn’t necessarily mean documentaries on BBS. They could be dramas with realistic relationships or action shows with clever plotlines. When active viewers watch programs, they have ideas and talk about them with others. Good programming inspires them to change their thinking and their lives. Unlike passive viewers, they don’t want to watch more and more without thinking.
Television may destroy communication among passive viewers. Those viewers probably don’t want to communicate with friends and family much anyway. For active viewers who already enjoy communicating, television is actually helpful!

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Use specific reasons and examples to support your option.
Some people said that the television has destroyed communication among friends and family. However, I think it is contrary. A television can increasingly communicative. The news and information which we see on TV give us something need discussing with friends and our family, TV also helps us more understand each other, for we can access the same programs, and the television can help we share our profits with others people.
First of all, a TV program supports some things in order to think and discuss. Todays, we always hear the news is updated every minute when we turn on the TV. We listen too much various news have occurred in the world directly effective in our lives. Everyone gives their opinion on things and all of them wants to discuss their opinion with another person. Therefore, news and information from TV programs encourage us to discuss our ideas with friends and our family.
Secondly, although we are living in any countries, we also approach to the same TV programs which people live in other countries. When we come to the city in order to work, to study or to rest, we have had a common point with people here. Moreover, when we meet some new people, we will be familiar with at least one program which they watch. This gives us some things to discuss, and it is a way to start a new relationship, or it is also a way to start a conversation.
Finally, almost people use TV as a way to follow their hobbies. The players usually watch sports TV; people like a cooking watch cooking program. If friends and our family like watching the same programs, we can more understand which we interested. This wonder from is helping people know each other.
To sum up, a television is a tool to help us access to information, entertainment and education. When we watch programs which we care, we want to share this concern with other people. That why I believe that TV encourages more communication among people than losing it.
